Toshify supports drivers who want to join Cabify: account opening, document verification (professional licence, vehicle registration, insurance, vehicle proof), app onboarding, activation. At growth peak, the team spent the equivalent of three FTEs calling candidates one by one — an operation that did not scale, did not run at night, and capped at 60% of candidates called back within 24 h.
The brief was clear: free those resources without degrading the candidate experience, and offer 24/7 availability on a channel drivers already use — WhatsApp.
The AI agent talks to every driver candidate, checks the required documents (professional licence, vehicle registration, insurance), answers questions about the job and Cabify in Argentina, then pushes structured data into Intercom, Supabase and our internal tool. When a case falls outside the standard, it hands off to a human supervisor.
We built the solution in three pieces: a conversational onboarding workflow that covers 95% of standard cases (info collection, document checks, driver FAQ), a smart hand-off module that detects complex files (disputed cases, premium profiles, special administrative situations), and a supervision dashboard on the Toshify side to track conversation quality in real time.
The agent never lies: it knows how to say “I don’t know, I’ll hand off to a human”. That honesty is what makes it credible to drivers — and acceptable to the Toshify team.
